So... the dust settles after ESOS deadline

An update published yesterday, provides some insight into the compliance of firms required to complete ESOS notifications.

Nearly 70% of the anticipated number of firms required to comply have made either a full compliance or an intent to comply notification.

The compliance rate indicates a significant increase from one week before the deadline, when EA figures showed that just 1,682 businesses had confirmed their compliance and 543 said they intended to comply by 29 January.

The position now stands that:

  • 4,000 full ESOS compliance notifications have been made.
  • 2,500 intent to comply notifications have been made.
  • 87% of companies who missed full compliance by 5th December, intend to fully comply by 29th January.

If you are one of the 30% of companies who have not yet responded at all, it is important that you inform the EA of your intent to comply as soon as possible - this can be done easily here.
