How it works

CHPQA is a Government initiative used to monitor CHP schemes and incentivise quality and efficiency – basically the more efficient your scheme, the greater the financial reward.

Both fossil fuel based and a certain type of renewable fuelled engines are eligible for the scheme and a wide range of benefits are available, including having to pay less in levies on energy used by your engines, to claiming Renewable Obligation Certificates and biomass CHP Renewable Heat Incentive payments.

New entrants must go through an application process for both new and existing CHP projects, and are also required to submit sets of energy data every year to remain a participant.

How you benefit

  • Complete peace of mind – we will make your application for CHPQA on your behalf, whether this is for a new installation, or an existing one without certification. We will also advise you on the energy monitoring requirements for the scheme, and ensure that you have all of the correct equipment installed to gather the data for your annual submissions.
  • Assured compliance – we handle the collection and management of your energy data, the processing of your data to CHPQA standards, and submission to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • You will receive every benefit from the scheme that you are entitled to. We’re well-versed in energy management and compliance, so you can be sure that if there’s a subsidy that’s applicable, you’ll be receiving it.

Maximising compliance and benefits for CHP systems:

NFU Energy’s CHPQA Audit Support Service

If your facility is equipped with a CHP system, you’re likely to be familiar with the importance of compliance and maintaining the highest standards in the energy industry.

A CHPQA audit is a routine part of the compliance process and verifies compliance with regulations and peak efficiency of your CHP system, resulting in reduced energy costs and lowered emissions.

NFU Energy offers comprehensive support throughout the audit process, including expert guidance, pre-audit preparation, on-site presence during the audit, and post-audit support to ensure compliance remains intact.
